Year in Review--ABA National Client Counseling Semi-finals

On March 17-18, King Hall sent two students to compete in the 2017 ABA National Law Student Client Counseling Competition in Oklahoma. This was the second National ABA competition that King Hall Negotiations Team members attended in 2017.

Emily Robert '18 and Amanda Saunders ’18, qualified for the national competition after winning first place at the ABA Regional Competition in early February.

The 2017 ABA Client Counseling Competition focused on privacy law, simulating real-life legal situations in which law students, acting as lawyers counsel “clients” who walk in to their “office.” In each round, a panel of judges evaluated the teams based on a variety of factors such as professionalism, ethics, and teamwork.

The King Hall Negotiations Team (KHNT) would like to thank the Dean's office for its financial support. KHNT also thanks Professor Donna Shestowsky, KHNT's Faculty Advisor, for coaching the teams in preparation for the competition, and further thanks the KHNT team and board members, and other student volunteers, for sparring with the competitors and helping them get ready for the competition. Special thanks goes to Katherine Holding '17, who served as the student coach and traveled with the team.
