KHNT prepares members for competition in diverse opportunities throughout the year. Competitions that KHNT has had a consistent presence at include the following. 

ABA Negotiations Competition promotes interest in legal negotiation and provides a means to practice negotiating skills. The competition simulates legal negotiations in which law students negotiate a series of legal problems. The simulations consist of a common set of facts known by all participants and confidential information known only to the participants representing a particular side. More information here.

ABA Client Counseling Competition simulates a law office consultation in which law students, acting as attorneys, are presented with a client matter. They conduct an interview with a person playing the role of the client and then explain how they would proceed further in the hypothetical situation. More information here. 

ABA Mediation Competition provides students experience settling a dispute or controversy in front of an independent person in order to aid them in the settlement of their disagreement. Student teams act as a lawyer and a client to resolve the dispute. More information here. 

NFL Negotiations Competition promotes contract negotiations specific to sports contracts. Students teams represent players, coaches, administration, or supporting staff in negotiations relating to the building of stadiums, long term contracts, media relations, and more. More information here. 

Southwestern Entertainment Law Negotiation Competition  provides the opportunity to develop negotiation skills and gain competitive experience with an eye towards effective communication and ability to assess interests of clients and adversaries. This competition is helpful for students interested in a career in entertainment law, particularly those who wish to network and experience Los Angeles and Hollywood.  More information here.
