CILS: Evolution of the Merger Guidelines: Is this fox too clever by half?  - Monday March 18, 2024 - 12PM - 1PM @ Room 1301

CILS talk featuring Carl Shapiro, a leading antitrust scholar from Berkeley. Carl will be discussing the recent FTC-DOJ merger guidelines, which will have a significant impact on industry concentration, particularly in high-tech fields. While not directly addressing IP (though he may touch on it), this talk will be very relevant to students interested in law and technology. See attached flyer for more information.

KHIPLA Elections - Open March 17 - April 1

Board applications open on March 17th and will be due April 1st. We will be conducting elections virtually after applications have been received! More information about positions and the election process will be included in the email that will have the application. 

 

KHIPLA Spring Silicon Valley IP Mixer - Wednesday April 3, 2024 - 5:30 @ White & Case LLP 3000 El Camino Real 2 Palo Alto Square, Suite 900 Palo Alto, CA 94306

Dean Compton and KHIPLA board have worked with White & Case to put on this event, which will be an amazing networking opportunity. It will be King Hall alumni that work in IP law, in-house, or with technology (tech trans for example) in Silicon Valley that are here to talk to current King Hall students! If you are interested in pre-OCI, this would be a great opportunity to meet attorneys at firms. There will be food and refreshments provided and KHIPLA board is organizing a carpool so be on the lookout for that information! A formal invitation/RSVP to come soon!

Come hear how some of the 2L and 3L KHIPLA members found their summer jobs and what kind of work they did. There will be an introductory panel followed by a chance to talk directly to 2Ls and 3Ls in smaller groups.
