About the Competition
The Annual Irving J. Neumiller Moot Court Competition is the final round of the year-long Moot Court competition. Top students from the appellate advocacy course are selected to compete in front of a panel of distinguished judges. The event takes place each spring and is open to the public.
The 55th Annual Irving J. Neumiller Moot Court Competition
The Neumiller Competition is the final round of the year-long Moot Court competition at UC Davis School of Law. Top students from the appellate advocacy course are selected to compete in front of a panel of distinguished judges.
This year, the Neumiller Competition was held on April 12, 2024. Finalists Alexandria Marx, Sinporion Phuong, Yenna Ahn, and Hyein Kim went head-to-head in front of a panel of six distinguished judges. The following judicial officers presided over the competition:

- Judge John A. Mendez - Senior United States District Judge on the US District Court for the Eastern District of California
- Judge Troy Nunley - United States District Judge on the US District Court for the Eastern District of California
- Justice Ronald B. Robie - Associate Justice on the Third District of the California Court of Appeal
- Judge William B. Shubb - Senior United States District Judge on the US District Court for the Eastern District of California
