Olivia Filbrandt
Co-Chair

Olivia Filbrandt is a third year law student and Co-Chair of KHWLS. Passionate about land use and environmental regulation, she earned her bachelor’s degrees in anthropology and Spanish literatures from UC Berkeley. She has worked for the Attorney General Kamala Harris, for Senator Barbara Boxer, for the U.S. District Court, and locally for the Governor’s Office of Planning and Research specializing in CEQA compliance and judicial review. Outside KHWLS, she is the President of the King Hall Negotiations Team and member of the Trial Practice Honors Board. In her spare time, she enjoys drinking Zins and sending mail while training to keep her Elite Yelp status.

Trevor Fehr
Co-Chair

Trevor Fehr is a rising third year law student and Co-Chair of KHWLS. He graduated from UCLA with a bachelor’s degree in political science and global studies. Outside of KHWLS, he is active in the King Hall Legal Foundation that finances public interest opportunities for law students and is Vice President of the King Hall Negotiations Team. In his off time, Trevor enjoys dark stouts on cold nights and crisp pilsners on sunny afternoons.

Vice President of Beer

Dane Jones is a second year student and Vice President of Beer in KHWLS. During her undergraduate work at Brown University, she conducted research on best practices for farming hops and brewing techniques while working on various farms in the northeastern United States. She has international experience in beverage culture having lived in Bosnia and Herzegovina. She enjoys red wine on cold winter nights and a hoppy IPA all summer long.

Todd Singer
Vice President of Wine

Todd Singer is a second year law student and Vice President of Wine for KHWLS. He received his undergraduate degree in Middle Eastern studies from The George Washington University. In between undergrad and law school, he worked in the hospitality industry and tasted wines from all over the world. His professional interests encompass anything related to technology and intellectual property, including advances in the alcohol industry. In his spare time, Todd enjoys Italian wine, TV shows, politics, and all things nerdy.

Treasurer

Mack Carlson is a second year law student, and Treasurer of KHWLS. He graduated from Tufts University with bachelor's degrees in geology and environmental science. Outside of KHWLS, he is active in the Water Association of Law and Policy, a panel chair for the 2017 Water Law Symposium, a board member on the Environmental Law Society, and a senior articles editor of EnvironsEnvironmental Law and Policy Journal. In his spare time, he likes to hike, drink double IPAs, and enjoy the patio at Berryessa Brewery.

Secretary

Adam Smith is a second year law student and Secretary for KHWLS. Prior to moving to Davis, he worked in the bar and restaurant industry while earning a degree in pre-law philosophy from the University of Texas at Austin. During his 1L summer, Adam worked with the Wine Institute as a legal and legislative intern. In his free time, Adam enjoys listening to music, drinking a good Syrah, and exploring all of the great NorCal nature spots.

3L Class Representative

John Miller is a third year law student and a 3L Representative of the King Hall Wine Law Society. Prior to attending law school, John attended UC Davis and earned his bachelor’s degrees in both history and classical studies. John is an avid Dodgers fan and a Certified Beer Server. Outside of KHWLS, John enjoys visiting breweries California breweries, playing trivia, and learning languages.

3L Class Representative

Raised in Cincinnati Ohio, Albert Vontz is a JD/MBA student and the President of the Food and Wine Leadership Association. With lifelong experience in the alcohol and entertainment industries, Albert studied business and music as an undergraduate at Boston College while working with beer and wine producers, distributorships, and retailers including Heidelberg Distributing, E&J Gallo Winery, and Harpoon Brewery, among others. Albert is also a part-time homebrewer, a Certified Beer Server, and a beer enthusiast who spent the past summer touring European breweries. This summer, he will work with Gaw Van Male in Napa Valley.

2L Class Representative

Josie is a second year law student and a Class Representative of KHWLS.  A native of the San Gabriel Valley in Los Angeles County, Josie earned a BA in English Literature from Azusa Pacific University.  She spent her 1L summer working at Alcoholic Beverage Control in pursuit of a career in the wine and alcohol law industry.  She is currently serving as the American Bar Associations representative for the Law Student Association.  In her free time she enjoys finding new sour beers, baking bread, and searching for the perfect breakfast diner.

2L Class Representative

Gavin Deeb is a second year law student and a class representative of KHWLS. He earned his bachelor’s degree from UC Santa Barbara, where he studied political science and history and developed his first taste for wine from local wineries. A native of San Diego, Gavin was fortunate to be welcomed to the beer world by some of the nation’s best craft breweries. Prior to attending law school, Gavin worked in Congresswoman Susan Davis’ San Diego office, as an English teacher in rural Spain, and in the travel industry. In his spare time, he enjoys playing music, cooking, and traveling to dabble in art, food, and beverages.

1L Representative

Niki Moshiri is a first year law student and a 1L Class Representative of KHWLS. At University of California, San Diego, she earned a bachelor's degree with an International Studies major and a Human Rights minor, and spent many of her weekends brewery-hopping and scouting out the best tacos in San Diego. Before joining the King Hall community, Niki worked in a wine bar in Los Angeles. If she's not spending her downtime dabbling in art, music, and bad puns, she's exploring local restaurants and bars, or just kicking back and enjoying a good rye whiskey, Napa cab, or saison.

1L Representative 

Chris Moskal is a first year law student and a class representative of KHWLS. A native of Maryland, Chris earned his bachelor's degree from UMBC, where he studied political science, international affairs, and French. During his undergraduate years, Chris spent a semester abroad in Paris, where he discovered a passion for the study of wine and beer. Before attending law school, Chris worked in Morgan Stanley's Fixed-Income division and in various sales and service roles. In his spare time, he enjoys rock climbing, cycling, and home-brewing beer.

1L Representative

Cory Darnell is a first year law student, and a 1L Rep of KHWLS. He is deeply passionate about all areas of viniculture and hope to make wine law his career. He obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from UC Berkeley, a Master’s degree in Business Administration focusing in International Business from Trinity College Dublin, and a Post Graduate Certificate from Bournemouth University in International Corporate Governance. He is also a member of the International Compliance Association in good standing. Before Law School he set up my own winery called 'Chaumiere Longs Camps Winery' in Guernsey, Channel Islands and was labeled the best winemaker in the British Isles 2014 by ReiseArt Culture & Tourism Ltd, and has won first and second place in several competitions in Europe. Don’t let the above fool you, he still considers himself quite a wine novice, especially regarding New World wine methods, science and technology and eagerly hopes to increase his knowledge
