Rebecca Ferguson, Class of 2015
Co-Chair
Rebecca Ferguson graduated with honors from Mills College in 2011 with her B.A. in Economics. Rebecca’s experiences at Mills, a liberal arts college for women, motivated her to become involved with issues relevant to women and their advocates. After graduation, Rebecca worked as a Legal Assistant in a mid-sized civil law firm in Sacramento. Rebecca has been an active member of KHWLA throughout her time at King Hall, first serving as a 1L Representative before being elected as Co-Chair. Rebecca is also a member of the King Hall Budget Policy Committee and the Trial Practice Honors Board. Rebecca spent the summer of 2013 working in the Correctional Law Section of the California Attorney General’s Office. Last summer, Rebecca worked for a local appellate attorney on academic and legal matters. In her spare time, Rebecca loves to bake, read, and relax with her oversized lapdog, Roxie.
Abby Wolf, Class of 2016
Co-Chair
Abby Wolf graduated from UC Berkeley in 2011 with a degree in History with a focus on the Middle East. Afterwards she worked as a case assistant/paralegal in San Francisco in the litigation department of a large, international law firm. In addition to her role as Co-Chair of KHWLA, Abby is a teaching assistant for a first year property course, Senior Articles Editor for the Business Law Journal, and a research assistant for Professor Madhavi Sunder. Outside of law school, she likes modern art, baking, and her pet rabbit, Ralphie. Abby is especially interested in creating equal opportunity for women in the workplace.
Lindsay Moorhead, Class of 2016
Treasurer
Prior to attending law school to pursue a career in wine law, Lindsay worked as an Assistant Director for film and television, in Los Angeles, CA. She has been a member of the Directors Guild of America since 2008, after graduating from the Directors Guild-Producer Training Program. Before being selected for the program, Lindsay worked for the President of Warner Bros. Television Group. She earned her BS in Radio-Television-Film, at The University of Texas, in Austin. In addition to serving on the KHWLA Board, Lindsay is the Wine Institute’s fall extern, as well as a Managing Editor of Environs, the Environmental Law and Policy Journal, and Secretary of the King Hall Wine Law Society. She is also an avid runner, having completed six marathons, five half marathons, and is currently training for her seventh full marathon.
Antonia Wong, Class of 2016
Secretary
Antonia Wong graduated from UC Davis in 2010 with a degree in Genetics. After graduation, she worked in a conservation genetics laboratory for 3 years. In addition to the KHWLA Board, she is a board member in the Asian Pacific American Law Student Association and the King Hall Intellectual Property Law Association, as well as a member of Law Review.
Heather Zimmerman, Class of 2015
Fundraising Chair
Heather Zimmerman graduated with honors from UC Davis with degrees in Political Science and Communication. Prior to law school she worked for an egg donation company, a start-up biopharmaceutical company, and earned her Master's Degree in Public Health with an emphasis in Health Law, Bioethics and Human Rights. In law school she has worked as an extern for the Honorable Troy Nunley in the Eastern District of California, and as a legal fellow with the California Law Review Commission. She currently serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the UC Davis Business Law Journal.
Roxanne Strohmeier, Class of 2016
Reproductive Justice Chair
Roxanne holds a B.A. in Politics from the University of California, Santa Cruz and Master of Public Health (MPH) with an emphasis in Maternal and Child Health from the University of California, Davis. Before attending law school she worked as a Program Development Consultant for the California Department of Public Health’s Maternal, Child, and Adolescent Health Division. Prior to this, Roxanne worked for Planned Parenthood in various capacities including: Program Coordinator, Marketing Assistant, Health Services Specialist, and Medical Services Representative. At King Hall, Roxanne is also a Senior Sections Editor for the Journal of Juvenile Law and Policy, and the President of Law Students for Reproductive Justice. This past summer, she was a University of California Human Rights Fellow and worked as a legal intern for the national ACLU’s Reproductive Freedom Project’s litigation department. Her professional interests include litigation, health care law, and reproductive rights.
Erin Canino, Class of 2017
1L Representative
Erin Canino is originally from Lake Tahoe and love to be outdoors. In college Erin minored in Ethnic Studies and also focused on Women and Gender Studies issues. Erin interned at Shell Beach Law Group and Court Appointed Special Advocates, and served as president of the Undergraduate Law Association. She also participated in ASI Student Government (College of Liberal Arts Representative to the Board of Directors) and Mock Trial. She is a member of Kappa Alpha Theta, Golden Key Honors Society, and Pi Sigma Alpha (political science honors society). After graduating, she worked at Ernst Law Group in San Luis Obispo.
Kelley Harrington, Class of 2017
1L Representative
Kelley Harrington graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in Psychology. After college, she attended graduate school at the University of Minnesota and earned her M.A. in Educational Psychology. She previously worked for a school district in Michigan as a school psychologist. In addition to her role as 1L representative for KHWLA, Kelley is a section writer for the Journal of Juvenile Law & Policy, a below line editor for the Business Law Journal, and an educational rights holder with Advocates for Youth Justice. Outside of law school, Kelley enjoys practicing yoga, traveling, skiing, playing golf, and spending time with her cat Dwight. Kelley is also interested in promoting equal opportunity for women in the field of law.
Courtney Hatchett, Class of 2017
1L Representative
Courtney graduated from The University of Texas in 2012 with a degree in English. Throughout college and after graduation, she worked with the legal nonprofit Jane's Due Process, an organization focused on minor's reproductive rights. She has also taught at a high school in Houston serving primarily refugee students and spent a year teaching in a town outside of Chiang Mai, Thailand. Courtney is especially interested in reproductive rights and also sits on the Law Students for Reproductive Justice board.
Joan Pradhan, Class of 2017
1L Representative
Joan Pradhan grew up in Seattle, Washington and loves to drink coffee and do yoga. Since high school Joan has been a member and a volunteer for the Nepal Seattle Society. In college she was a member of the Scripps College Mock Trial Team for four year as well as spending a summer in Kathmandu researching politics. After college Joan spent a month backpacking through Ireland with her sister.
Professor Lisa Pruitt
Faculty Advisor
Professor Lisa Pruitt's career spans the globe, literally and figuratively. Before joining the UC Davis law faculty in 1999, she worked abroad for almost a decade in settings ranging from international organizations to private practice. Professor Pruitt worked with lawyers in more than 30 countries, negotiating cultural conflicts in several arenas. It is not surprising that a common theme of her research interests is how law and legal institutions manage and respond to cultural difference and cultural change.
