Q. Are there priority registration programs for veterans at King Hall?

A. We'd like veterans to have priority registration at the law school. AB 2133 amended the CA Education Code to grant priority registration to veterans at CA Community Colleges and Cal State schools. UCs are requested to do the same. Every undergraduate campus complies with the request. Unfortunately, the graduate schools do not. The only UC law school that grants priority registration to veterans is Berkeley. It seems that the only reason that they do it is because of an error in their registration system that they cannot correct (UCB Law's registration system is tied to the undergraduate system, so if you're a veteran at Berkeley, the graduate schools cannot distinguish you).

Our argument in favor of priority registration has three main components:

• We earned it and we deserve it. It's the right thing for the school to do and it has no capital costs.
• The school should comply with the Legislation's request or provide a compelling reason why they do not need to do so.
• Supporting veterans at King Hall will help the administration in its outreach, marketing, recruitment, and fundraising efforts.
