2014 ADR Education Award

Posted By Graham Hoerauf, Jul 21, 2014

KHNT is thrilled to announce the University of California, Davis, School of Law is the recipient of the 2014 Ninth Circuit ADR Education Award!  The Ninth Circuit Judicial Council created this award in 2004 to recognize ABA-accredited law schools in the Ninth Circuit that have demonstrated a commitment to advancing education in the field of Alternative Dispute Resolution.  UC Davis School of Law’s increased ADR course offerings and Professor Donna Shestowsky’s scholarship in the area of court-annexed ADR procedures particularly impressed the ADR Committee.  Further, Judge Ricardo S. Martinez wrote, “[T]he law students’ contributions to ADR education through the Negotiations Board and intramural competitions is exciting and impressive.”

KHNT would like to thank all of the students and faculty, past and present, who have contributed to the ADR program at King Hall to make it what it is today.  KHNT especially appreciates the support and guidance of Dean Kevin Johnson, Professor Shestowsky, and KHNT alumni and friends.  The Committee plans to present the ADR Education Award at the Eastern District of California annual conference in Yosemite, scheduled for October 4th.  The Committee will present  an award plaque, along with a description of the law school’s achievements in ADR education.
