Dear APALSA members,

As fall semester comes to an end, we want to take this time to thank you for your participation, time, and enthusiasm.

This semester, we have worked to demonstrate our commitment to the Asian American legal community through professional development, community outreach, and events that allow us to get to know one another better.

Some highlights of this semester include: hosting the "Around the World BBQ" to welcome new first year students and maintain our relationship with other organizations on campus, working with the King Hall Legal Foundation to provide two $500 scholarships to two deserving members to support them in their community service work, creating an "APALSA Career Builder" blog (http://ucdapalsa.blogspot.com/), revamping our website (which can be found at http://students.law.ucdavis.edu/APALSA/), launching our Speakers Series with a visit from Judge Hashimoto, collaborating with the Asian Bar Association of Sacramento (ABAS) to create an official mentorship program that partners students with lawyers at legal events and offers opportunities to have intimate dinners with members of ABAS,  and a Bowling Mixer.

We look forward to continuing our commitment to APALSA members and Asian American issues  during the  spring semester.  We have many exciting events and activities for you all to attend.  At the beginning of next semester, we will be coordinating a trip to Santa Clara for the BAAPALSA Conference, which brings together all the regional APALSA groups for a day of networking, speakers, and socializing.  Also, please mark your calendars our annual Asian Pacific Islander Week ("API Week"), which will be held on April 12-19.  API Week represents the culmination of our activities and will include the announcement of our first ever in-house APALSA Scholarship recipient.  We will also continue having social events and hosting Speaker Series lunches. If you did not get a chance to participate this semester, you can still enjoy the programs APALSA offers next semester.

Please continue to check your weekly emails and our website for more information about events and opportunities to meet practicing lawyers, hang out with other law students, and build your career.

Cheers,

Your APALSA Board
